What an intriguing harlequin.  I would have liked a bit more of an explanation other than “lol” but I suppose that fits with the jovial/evil harlequin persona.   According to the wikipedias, harlequins were traditionally an “emissary of the devil, said to have roamed the countryside with a group of demons chasing the damned souls of evil people to Hell”.  When you spend our days roaming the countryside chasing damned souls in impractical shoes like those I’d say a bit a rest up a tree is necessary now and then.  I doubt harlequins would be terribly good at catching the damned souls anyway because, not only can they not run fast due to impractical footwear, they make a lot of noise due to their jingly bell accessories.  Hooray! We damned souls get to stay due to this harlequin’s incompetence.  We’re more fun than the non-damned and we generally have awesome hair. 

This photo is quite pretty and the subject is obviously a Goth in costume.  She’s not smiling and appears to be quite high in the tree.  It is day time but I suppose the damned are easier to spot during the daylight hours.
